Parry Gosyne
Parmeshwar “Parry” Gosyne was born into a deeply rooted musical lineage, where devotion, culture, and melody were woven into everyday life. He is the son of the renowned Deonath Gosyne and the talented Jagdaye Gosyne, both respected singers and composers of North Indian Bhajans and traditional folk styles. From an early age, Parry was immersed in sacred music and classical influences, naturally embracing the path laid before him and shaping it into his own distinctive artistic journey. A gifted vocalist and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Parry has built a life richly infused with music, arts, and culture. His voice carries both strength and sensitivity, allowing him to move effortlessly between devotional Bhajans, Ghazals, sentimental film songs, and folk compositions. Equally proficient on keyboard and guitar, he is widely admired for his refined arrangements and expressive accompaniment.
Parry is the beloved husband of Trinidad and Tobago’s melody queen, Polly Sookraj Gosyne. Together, they form one of the country’s most cherished musical partnerships, living and breathing music daily while gracing numerous stages as a harmoniously talented couple. Their shared passion for excellence and authenticity has endeared them to audiences both locally and internationally. Throughout his distinguished career, Parry has had the honor of accompanying and arranging music for many celebrated artistes. Among them are iconic Indian performers such as Hari Om Sharan, Anup Jalota, Ghulam Ali, and Rajkumar Rizvi. In addition, he has lent his talents to numerous popular artistes from India, Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and other parts of the world, further broadening his musical reach and reputation.
His first commercial album, Prayog, marked a significant milestone in his artistic development. The project allowed Parry to reinterpret classic Indian film songs through his unique vocal expression and carefully crafted musical arrangements. He scored the entire album himself, with Polly Sookraj Gosyne providing beautiful vocal accompaniment, resulting in a work that reflects both creative innovation and deep respect for tradition. Parry’s musical family connections extend further, as he is the brother-in-law of the distinguished keyboard maestro Karamchand Maharaj, with whom he has collaborated on numerous stage performances and recording projects. His foundation in Indian classical music was strengthened through his association with Bharatiya Vidya Sansthhaan (BVS Canada) and the guidance of its founder, Gurudev Prof. H. S. Adesh, whose mentorship helped refine Parry’s classical discipline and artistic depth.
Over the years, this humble and versatile artiste has shared the stage with many prominent performers, including Amarnath Patasar, Ramnarine (Tole) Moonilal, Bhim Singh, Kailash Kowlessar, Dhanraj Singh, Sagar Sookraj, Premchand Jagdeo, Narindra Ramdular, Bhaskar Sharma, Ramesh Maraj, Harold Boodoo, Ganga Persaud, Chrishna Mano, Krishna Patasar and many other esteemed artistes too numerous to mention. In every collaboration, his adaptability and refined artistry shine through, enhancing each performance with warmth and musical sophistication. Whether performing at grand Concerts, Mehfils, or at the Mandir, Parry consistently leaves audiences uplifted and inspired. His versatility, humility, and unwavering dedication to his craft continue to define his legacy. Through every note he sings and every chord he plays, Parmeshwar “Parry” Gosyne proudly preserves his rich musical heritage while sharing his artistry with audiences across borders, bridging cultures through the universal language of music.
