Sharma Ramdular
Sharma Ramdular is a respected musician whose journey began in Trinidad, where his passion for music first took root. From humble beginnings, he developed into a gifted singer, songwriter, and accomplished keyboard player. He was also a founding member of the Triveni Indian Orchestra, where his talent and energetic stage presence quickly captured the attention of audiences. He is also the younger brother of the versatile and popular Narindra Ramdular.
Affectionately dubbed the “Local Amitabh Bacchan”, Sharma became known for his charismatic performances, expressive singing style, and commanding presence on stage. His ability to connect with audiences through music made him a favorite among fans of Indian and Caribbean cultural music. Now based in Canada with his family, Sharma continues to stay deeply connected to his musical roots and heritage. Over the years, his skill as a keyboardist has given him the opportunity to perform alongside renowned international artistes such as Anup Jalota and Anuradha Paudwal, representing both Eastern and Western Indian musical traditions.
His musical repertoire is wide and versatile, ranging from Bhajans and inspirational music to traditional and contemporary pieces, Hindi film songs, and customized karaoke productions. In addition to performing, Sharma has also contributed as a music arranger and keyboardist for several audio recordings, providing original scores, playback music, and accompaniment for multiple CD projects. Among his most prized works, Sharma composed and arranged music for the Hindi/Punjabi song “Ladkiyan to Hain Mazaa” featured in the Canadian film Dollars & Scents, produced by Meow Films in Toronto.
Sharma enjoyed a magnetic stage presence with many great artiste throughout his career to date including the magnificent Devindra Pooran, Rajmanee Maharaj, Shiraz Walli, Nazimool Khan, Janet Naipaul, Mel Venkat (Venky), Harold Boodoo, Lalchand “Rafi” Singh, Narsaloo Ramaya, Narindra Ramdular, Ramesh Maraj and a host of other prominent performers. With a career rooted in passion and cultural pride, Sharma Ramdular continues to bring his music to audiences while honoring the traditions that shaped his journey.
