Ramesh Maraj

Ramesh Maraj is an accomplished and versatile saxophonist whose exceptional talent has taken him from the Caribbean stage to prestigious international platforms. Renowned for his expressive tone and dynamic performances, he has performed extensively both nationally and internationally and has released two CDs of captivating instrumental music that showcase his remarkable artistry.

Throughout his distinguished career, Ramesh has had the honor of performing for acclaimed Hollywood Movie director M. Night Shyamalan, best known for directing the film The Sixth Sense. He also appeared in Hyderabad, India, as the opening act for the release of Bollywood Movie Director Ram Gopal Varma’s movie “Sholay” remake “Aag,” where he shared the stage with legendary Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. His artistry has also been recognized on prominent global stages, including a special performance for the Indian Press Corps at the United Nations.

Ramesh’s international appearances include an invitation to perform in Beverly Hills, California for CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Larry King’s benefit. He was also featured at a concert by legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle at the Flint Center in Cupertino, California, further cementing his reputation as a musician of global appeal.

A gifted instrumentalist with wide musical range, Ramesh skillfully performs classic Bollywood melodies, popular contemporary hits, and a rich blend of Western musical styles, bringing a distinctive voice to every stage he graces. His musical excellence is complemented by strong academic achievements, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music and a Master of Science in Education, and currently serves as a Director of Music in California.

Over the years, he has also shared the stage with many respected and celebrated artistes including Shiraz Walli, Karamchand Maharaj, Bhim Singh, Devindra Pooran, Sharma Ramdular, Polly Sookraj, Parry Gosyne, Rajmanee Maharaj, Harold Boodoo, Bhaskar Sharma, and numerous other distinguished performers from across the region and internationally. Known for his dedication, discipline, and deep passion for music, Ramesh approaches every performance with sincerity and excellence.

Now based in the United States, this outstanding musician continues to captivate audiences with vibrant, heartfelt performances. His remarkable contributions to music and his ability to accompany and elevate artistes from many countries have earned him admiration from fans, fellow musicians, and music lovers wherever he performs.
