Anup Jalota

Popular playback and bhajan singer Anup Jalota, son of legendary bhajan singer Purushottam Das Jalota, was born on July 29th 1953, in Nainital, Uttarkhand, India. He is an Indian singer and a musician, best known for his performances of bhajans, and ghazals. He studied in Lucknow, Uttarpradesh, in his early life. Anup Jalota's career is quite commendable. He started as a chorus singer in All India Radio. Anup Jalota is a very versatile artiste, he has made popular, bhajans composed by many Saints and Sages like Sant Tulsidas, Sant Kabir, Suradas, Brahmanand, and Mirabai to name but a few. He can perform songs in various Indian languages. He has recorded thousands of bhajans, ghazals and songs, Aisi Lagi Lagan, Chadariya Jhini Re Jhini, Jag Mein Sundar Hai Do Naam, Kanha Kanhaiya Nandala, Main Nazar Se Pee Rahaa Hoon, Mat Kar Tu Abhimaan, Radha Aisi Bhayi Shyam Ki Diwani, Raghubar Tumko Meri Laaj, Rang De Chunariya, Seeta Ke Ram Radha Ke Shyam and Woh Kala Ek Bansuriwala and the list goes on. He has performed worldwide on 5 continents over a 30 year span and released over 200 albums of bhajans and ghazals. Anup Jalota earned a record number of awards in his singing career thus far. Some of his albums ginclude, Rang De Chunariya, Sai Sumiran, Hari Naam Ki Mala, Bhajan Sandhya, Bhajan Ganga, and Bhajan Prabhaat. Anup Jalota continues to entertain his audiences all over the world with his divine voice.
