The late Chrishna Manoo was born on July 01, 1951 in Curepe to parents Manoo Seebaran and Basso Manoo. He was born in a musically gifted family. Both his mother and father were excellent dholak players. From very early in his life, Chrishna's musical talent was evident. He was always trying to imitate Mohd. Rafi, Mukesh and Kishore Kumar. His elder brother Sona Manoo was a very talented singer and mandolin player. With no formal instructions Chrishna picked up the Mandolin and started playing to the amazement of all present. He had a natural talent for musical instruments, pretty soon he was playing the harmonica and the harmonium as well. Soon thereafter Chrishna was asked to play the electric organ for the Sissons Naya Sansar Orchestra of Pasea. In no time he became a core member of this band assisting with the overall musical arrangement in addition to performing. He also played with the Naya Zamana Orchestra alongside the esteemed Narsaloo Ramaya. He saw further opportunity to expand his musical career when the Solo Sangeet Orchestra needed an organist. He approached the leader, Eddie Jagessar, and was immediately accepted to fill the void. In the mid 1980's, Chrishna along with his brothers, Vinod, Sona and Vishnu formed their own band The Manoranjan Orchestra. At that time Manoranjan was one of the top ranking bands. On two occasions Manoranjan participated in Saaj Samelan, where they emerged second. Due to unforeseen circumstances Manoranjan was dissolved and thereafter Chrishna moved on to be a freelance performer, accompanying many top artiste. He also toured places such as Barbados, Martinique, Guadeloupe and Guyana. Chrishna's musical career continued in this manner until his untimely passing in 2004. (Copyright Hindisongstt 2023).
