Taran Persad
The late Taran Persad, one of Trinidad’s most popular Indian artistes in his era, was born at Waterloo Road, Carapichaima, Trinidad, West Indies. He started his singing career at the age of ten. He later aligned himself with the Naya Zamana Indian Orchestra which was led by Ustad Nazeer Mohammed with whom he had undergone much training. He won many Indian Singing Competitions while touring in Tobago, Suriname and Guyana. Taran Persad in his singing career produced many recordings which remain alive to this date. He will forever be remembered in the minds and hearts of Indian Music lovers everywhere. (Copyright Hindisongstt 2025).
