Bhim Singh's introduction to music began in Enmore, Guyana; the place where he was born and raised. Having the opportunity to play with the Vidyarthi Orchestra as their guitar player and also serving as their leader was a challenging yet welcoming experience for him. Undoubtedly one of the early highlights of his career was being crowned the Best Band at Guyana's first Republic Music Festival Competition in 1970. He migrated to Canada in 1973 where he performed and recorded with the Winston Hewitt Band and Traction. He later toured and recorded with a versatile, all-Guyanese Band, Phase II for more than a decade and also served as their leader. This band won awards such as the Canadian Music Reggae Award and the Top Soca Live Band in 1986. During these years, he also performed with Karamchand Maharaj's Innovations Orchestra on a number of occasions. The tremendous knowledge and experience he acquired during this musical journey has enabled him to record his first solo CD - Back Tracking; a project that fuelled the need for performing both Indian and Western music with Bhim Singh's Variations Band. We have added Audio Samples of the music of this Great Artiste for the listening pleasure of the many fans of Bhim Singh across the globe, taken from our library. (Copyright Hindisongstt 2023).
